Early life:
“Vishesh Bhriguvanshi” was born on 13 September 1991 in Varanasi, U.P. India. Although Vishesh hails from a small city that was not so developed for sports and has not that good facilities, Vishesh has an interest in Basketball and started playing, As Vishesh has a really educated family background, His father was a lecturer and a mother was a principal so there was pressure on Vishesh to perform academically but his thinking and interest was different and he was really dedicated towards Basketball.
He used to practice in the basketball courts of Udai Pratap College in Varanasi every evening, and He was so focused that he competed in the Varanasi U-13 district meet after just few weeks practice. From there the journey was started and within the year of playing basketball, “Vishesh Bhriguvanshi” represented his district and state in 2000.
Where in that such a small age boys wants to have fun with friend, Vishesh was focused on his aim and he continuously tried to develop exponentially. That was not only a dream to succeed, that was a clear thinking & mindset he has that time, and he worked dedicatedly for that. After few years of hard practice in the age of approx. 17, Vishesh was in Senior Indian men’s team. Vishesh has been playing for India since 2007 and has a strenuous journey in his sport life.
Achievements:
His focus and hard work has bring that day in such a really young age when he was firstly awarded the captainship of Indian team Year 2010.
During the strenuous career of approx. 15 years, Visesh has made his debut for the India national basketball team at the FIBA Asia Championship in 2009, after that Vishesh has completed 2011 FIBA Asia Championship, 2013 FIBA Asia Championship, 2014 FIBA Asia Cup, 2015 FIBA Asia Championship, and 2016 FIBA Asia Challenge.
Team India (Vishesh and team) won a 3×3 basketball gold medal at the Asian Beach Games in 2008.
Visesh has won Three National Champions domestically with Indian Railways.
He was appointed by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation as its Brand Ambassador in 2011.
On 7 July 2017, Vishesh become the very first Indian to be signed by Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL) for one year one-year training deal with the Adelaide 36ers and became the League’s First Indian Player.
Now he won “Arjuna Award” (The Arjuna Awards are given by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India to recognize outstanding achievement in sports. Started in 1961)
